E-Learning
With the advancement of mobile technology, the convenience of mobile, cloud, and virtual technologies has significantly increased. The performance of mobile computing devices continues to improve, making the integration of information technology into learning an essential strategy for teaching and education. Our school adopts a blended learning model that combines both online and offline methods to enrich student learning experiences.
Prior to class, students are encouraged to engage with multimedia audiovisual resources, educational software packages, and online e-learning materials for self-directed study. This approach cultivates the habit of pre-class preparation and enhances students' capacity for independent learning.
During class, teachers utilize information technology to enhance instructional delivery, thereby fostering increased interaction between educators and students, as well as among peers. Students are afforded the opportunity to conduct real-time assessments through online platforms, with computer systems providing immediate feedback on their performance. This facilitates a prompt understanding of learning outcomes for students, while educators are able to deliver timely feedback to support student improvement.
After class, students are encouraged to utilize online platforms and resources to reinforce their learning. They are afforded the flexibility to view or review instructional videos at their own pace and to explore supplementary materials related to their topics of interest through online research. This approach accommodates diverse learning needs and offers students a range of learning experiences, ultimately fostering the development of lifelong learning skills.
Implementation of the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Policy
Our school has established a comprehensive wireless network with extensive coverage, and each classroom, as well as specialized rooms, is equipped with interactive electronic whiteboards to effectively facilitate e-learning. Beginning in Primary Four, we offer two Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) classes at each grade level, enabling students to utilize their personal mobile devices as educational tools. Teachers adeptly harness the functionalities of e-books and various multimedia learning resources to monitor students' learning progress in a timely manner, thereby enhancing the pace and effectiveness of instruction. This initiative promotes continuous learning both within and beyond the classroom, significantly improving the overall efficacy of teaching and learning.
