Music

Our music program utilizes diverse teaching methods and various musical activities, enhanced by information technology, to create a joyful learning environment. We aim to achieve four key learning objectives:

1.  Cultivating Creativity and Imagination: Students develop musical ideas and mastery of creative techniques through performance and listening, fostering their creativity and imagination.
2. Developing Musical Skills and Processes: Students enhance their performance skills to experience and express music, emphasizing the cultivation of musical imagination and sensitivity during practice.
3. Fostering Music Appreciation: Students learn to understand, respond to, and evaluate music, thereby developing their aesthetic sensibilities.
4. Understanding the Context of Music: Students explore the functions of music and understand its relationship with culture.

Additionally, through participation in interdisciplinary activities and extracurricular events, students gain multifaceted insights into music, increasing their interest in music education. Activities include music composition across grade levels, LBC Busking, rehearsals for the Hong Kong School Music Festival, annual concerts, singing competitions, AI song creation in collaboration with the Computer Science department, praise dance in collaboration with the Bible Studies department, arts week with the Visual Arts department, and Christmas caroling. These varied experiences enrich students' musical journeys.
