Our school’s Putonghua Talent Training Class aims to cultivate students’ diverse language talents in Putonghua and enhance their language expression skills and cultural literacy. The curriculum covers a wide range of activities, including the recitation of classical poetry and prose, Putonghua radio drama performances, and the dramatisation of idiom stories. The activities are varied, creative and engaging, allowing students to learn and grow in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

In the past two years, students have actively participated in various open competitions, delivering outstanding performances and winning numerous awards. Some students even advanced to the finals and received accolades. Several students were also invited to Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) to share their competition experiences and learning journeys in Putonghua. These opportunities not only enriched their language experience but also boosted their confidence and stage presence, showcasing the achievements of our school’s language education.

Through diverse language activities, the training class helps students improve their Putonghua listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities in practice, deepen their language knowledge, and accumulate language literacy. The training content also incorporates elements of Chinese culture, emphasising cultural inheritance and the cultivation of moral character. While learning the language, students can appreciate the profundity and richness of Chinese culture, draw wisdom and emotional values from classical stories and literary works, and develop positive character and cultural identity.

Looking ahead, the training class will continue to provide a broader learning platform for students who are passionate about Putonghua talents. We encourage them to express themselves boldly, fully utilise their strengths, shine on the stage of Putonghua talent performances, affirm themselves, and embark on an even more rewarding language journey.
